Aging Well Expo - Oakland, Mar 24 2026
Our Oakland Aging Well Expo brought together seniors, caregivers, and community partners for a meaningful afternoon of connection and learning.
We kicked things off with attendees exploring partner tables, creating a welcoming and interactive space where seniors could discover resources and ask questions.

Our founder & CEO, Deka Dike opened the event by sharing why Omatochi created the Aging Well Expo, to bring together resources, education, and community support for seniors and their caregivers.
Kenneth Maxey, President & CEO of Urban League followed with remarks on the power of community and the importance of trusted partnerships in supporting older adults.
And of course, no Omatochi event is complete without our signature banana dance, bringing smiles, laughter, and energy into the room as seniors and partners joined in together.
The CalAIM panel brought together providers across the care ecosystem, including Vicki Robinson from Omatochi, Tamar Kurleander from Kaiser Permanente, and Bella Bunkers from Mom’s Meals, who shared insights on services that help seniors age safely and independently.

One of the most engaging moments of the day was the financial fraud prevention session led by Alex. This time, he brought a fresh perspective, breaking down how AI-driven scams are evolving and how seniors are increasingly being targeted. The session sparked thoughtful questions and real conversations, showing just how relevant and important this topic is.
We also heard directly from our community partners, as each organization shared the services and resources they offer to support seniors and their families.
The event wrapped up with lunch and continued conversations, giving attendees the opportunity to connect more deeply and build relationships with providers.
A special thank you to the Oakland Public Library for hosting us, and to BluePath Health for sponsoring the lunch and helping make the day possible.
Because aging well isn’t just about care. It’s about community.
